The Summer
The chalet is located in a beautiful part of the French alps with many walks and hikes that begin right on the doorstep or a short drive away depending on how much or little you want to do. Beyond the village of Sixt are several walks which take in the dramatic scenery of the Cirque du Sixt.
The Grand Massif area presents excellent mountain biking opportunities with over 615km of marked trails and 6 lifts open during July and August which lead to some fantastic downhill biking. The majority of trails, however, do not need access via a lift and so can be used at any time of the year. The trails cater for everyone, ranging from steep descents to forest trails which all the family can enjoy. Les Gets/Morzine is a 20 minute drive away with access to the Portes du Soleil area.
White water rafting is also a popular activity and can be booked from either Morillon or Samoens. There are tennis courts in Morillon. Those wanting to play golf can travel to Flaine or Les Gets. Within Morillon is a stunning lake (the Lac Bleu) with a sandy beach for swimming, paddling, bathing and relaxing. Next door is the adventure park with exhilarating zip wires through trees.
